Course Name: Retrofit Roof Drains
Course Abstract: The information contained in this course should provide a basic understanding of roof drainage and retrofit roof drain systems. Roof drainage is discussed. Positive drainage is defined. Ponding water is defined and examples of ponding water's detrimental effects are given. Factors to be considered when designing roof drains are identified. Roof drain choices for reroofing applications are identified and discussed. A history of retrofit roof drains is presented and illustrations are provided explaining the installation.
Course Faculty: Dan Genovese
Faculty Bio: Mr. Genovese is the Marketing Manager for Olympic Fasteners. In 1998, OMG purchased U-Flow Inc., which is whithin the Roofing Products Division od Olympic. Mr. Genovese is also the Retrofit Drain Task Force Chair at SPRI, which is in the process of developing industry standards for insert drains. Mr. Genovese has worked for Olympic for fourteen years.
